Tumooh Center for Training and Development concluded the free workshop entitled “Strategic Planning and Risk Management in Sports Institutions”, which was held in implementation of the directives of His Highness Sheikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Representative of His Majesty the King for Humanitarian Works and Youth Affairs, Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, and comes within the company’s comprehensive project to develop sports cadres in clubs and national federations, with the participation of 65 individuals in person, and 30 individuals from outside the Kingdom who participated via “online”, representing many sports entities inside and outside the Kingdom.

The sports workshop, which began on Sunday, October 20, and continued for a full week until Thursday, October 24, was hosted by “Kingdom University”, coinciding with the strategic partnership that was recently signed within the framework of bilateral cooperation between it and “Tumooh”, and was lectured by Dr. Bashir Abdul Khaleq from the Republic of Lebanon.

The closing day of the workshop witnessed the attendance of His Excellency Mr. Mohammed Abdul Latif bin Jalal, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Tumouh Sports Management Company, and Dr. Nader Al Bastaki, Vice President of the Kingdom University, to honor the participants with certificates of appreciation, in addition to a special honor for the lecturer Dr. Bashir Abdul Khaleq, in the presence of the Executive Director of Tumouh, Mr. Manaa Al Mutawa.

The company has so far succeeded in implementing 6 free workshops, namely (Sports Management between Theory and Application), (Basics of Sports Contracts), (Financial Management in Sports Institutions), (Introduction to Sports Media), (Introduction to Sports Marketing), and finally (Strategic Planning and Risk Management in Sports Institutions), which it made available to the public and to those wishing to directly benefit, especially those working in the sports sector in clubs and national federations, as part of an integrated plan prepared by the executive management, in line with the directives of the Chairman of the Board of Directors, and the general policy of Tumooh in supporting those belonging to the sports sector in particular and other sectors in general.

The participants in the workshop praised the great efforts and remarkable support of His Highness Sheikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Representative of His Majesty the King for Humanitarian Work and Youth Affairs, Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, for His Highness’s directive to hold such qualitative workshops organized by the Training and Development Center at Tumooh Sports Management Company, and His Highness’s keenness to generalize the positive impact of offering such workshops of great importance that touch the needs of clubs and federations, and all individuals alike, which have proven their effectiveness and importance since their first launch, stressing that the risk management workshop had important dimensions in the sports system, and repercussions that will achieve many of the desired benefits and required goals during the next stage.

The participants noted the positive outcomes of the current workshop, as well as previous workshops, and said: We highly appreciate the support of His Highness Sheikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa for providing the opportunity for those wishing to engage and interact with the qualitative programs offered by “Tumooh” from time to time, which are distributed free of charge. We are happy to participate in the workshop, which focused on several aspects and diverse experiences in the field of how to plan and manage risks in sports institutions. We have seen great benefit from the explanations and practical applications that were included under the leadership of the lecturer, Dr. Bashir Abdulkhaliq. They expressed their deep thanks for the unparalleled success achieved and the constructive cooperation that enhanced the remarkable role of the Tumooh Center for Training and Development, and its sound vision towards graduating human cadres prepared on scientific and academic foundations, and putting them in clubs and sports federations, to continue comprehensive construction in the service of the nation.

The most prominent of these axes are: Introduction to strategic planning, the nature of strategic planning, a historical view of strategic planning, the importance of strategic planning, the objectives of strategic planning, common mistakes in the absence of strategic planning, practical exercises and examples, definition of risk management, definition of sports risks, the relationship between sports planning and risk management, historical cases in risk management, practical exercises for risk management.
